Can you tell me about your experiences with Uceris, pros and cons? A new doctor has prescribed it and I'd like to hear about other people's experiences with it before I decide whether or not to take it. Many thanks

We've had people have success with uceris when their inflammation is mild or slightly moderate. It's the steroid with the least amount of side effects.

Are you prescribed only this or other meds as well, and if so what?

I’ve taken it a few times. It worked to control my symptoms while I was taking it, but the symptoms always came back after I stopped. Like iPoop said, it usually works best for mild inflammation. I didn’t notice any side effects from taking it. I think it’s definitely worth trying.

I took it for two months and it was fantastic. No side effects.

I found it soothing to my gut. After the first little bit, that is. Feels weird as its expanding. Not painful. Just weird. It really covers a large area. My GI told me the rep set it off in the office, and it sprayed halfway across the room!

Thank you everyone for responding to my question. I haven't started taking it yet--feeling anxious about it because of a bad experience the last time I took Prednisone, and because I've been taking only Tibetan herbs to manage my UC for the past eight years. But I'm having more pain and symptoms than ever before, so you have convinced me to try it!
