Hi everyone,
I wanted to check with the online community to ask about elevated liver enzymes. I went for routine bloodwork on October 31st and my doctor notified me that one of my liver enzymes is “a little bit high” I don’t know which one it is and I haven’t actually seen the results. Needless to say, I’m very worried. I went for follow up bloodwork last week and results came back slightly elevated again. I have a fibroscan scheduled next week on Tuesday for my liver. I had blood work done in August and everything was fine.
I’ve read that PSC risk is higher in people with UC, which is why I’m so concerned. One thing that I have changed in the last two months is the consumption of Kombucha. I’ve been drinking it a couple times a week, and it is store bought. I’ve read that Kombucha can cause elevated liver enzymes, so I stopped drinking it last week.
My UC has been mostly in check and ok, I’ve had a tiny bit of blood after a really large weekend family meal but I’ve been using the salofalk enemas every day and I think they keeping things in check.
Anyone have any insights?
