What about 6mp or imuran instead of MTX? is that an option? I had luck with 6mp alone, before I took biologics. I feel like if I were in your shoes, where I was able to get down to 5mg without any symptoms at all, I would probably want to try something in combo with the humira, or try remicade, before giving up on anti TNFs. That's just me though, and I am pretty stubborn. The reality is, there aren't that many options, so giving up one at that point, is a lot. I probably would want to have the scope to see where things stand, but I do understand worrying about the scope making things worse. Uceris is good, but it's a bandaid, I guess if it got you over the hump, to where you could get off the pred, and stay stable on humira, that would be the perfect world scenario, but I wonder what the chances of that happening are? Probably low? Uceris instead of pred? Uceris, for me, has always been much less effective. i think the scope would probably dictate whether that might be an option for you, but if the inflammation is low, maybe a steroid enema, foam or liquid, might be an option, and you could just continue the pred taper as planned. Coming off Uceris, while easier than coming off pred, still comes with the same consequences - basically, your flare up comes back, or it ceases to be controlled before you even get to that point.
