I find it interesting that Crohns disease is accepted as a condition serious enough to make the list while Ulcerative Colitis is only under consideration. In terms of serious conditions, how is CD more serious than UC?

Well I am not an expert, and i think that UC should be a condition treatable by medical marijuana. But I think the fact that Crohns can occur anywhere in your digestive tract makes it more serious than UC, which only effects the large intestine. I think i read up to 80% of people with crohns will require some kind of surgery in their lifetime, where with UC i think that number is around 30%. Also, with removal of the colon UC is basically gone, where as Crohns usually will reoccur somewhere else.

Marijuana helps my UC btw..

Here in CA you could easily get MJ for either illness when you needed a doctors recommendation, but now it's recreational, anyone can get it for any reason. It's interesting, it seems like the majority of people buying are recreational users, the stores are much more crowded since it became recreational. I see lines out the doors.

I think it's interesting that Michigan defines what conditions give patients access. In CA, your doctor just has to certify you have a medical condition that would benefit from MJ.

NH says MJ for Crohn's but not UC. UC is considered curable with a surgery crohn's has no cure. More strict states with mj medical laws say incurable diseases only...

In my state you can petition the governing body to have diseases added to the list. UC was added a year or two ago.

In NJ you're good to go with either form of IBD.
