It is all related, because they are autoimmune illnesses. I was having difficulty getting a diagnosis of IBD from my GI, so I said heck with it, and have been seeing a rheumatologist for the ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis) that is associated with it. If I get the diagnosis, the treatments are usually the same as for IBD. I like seeing the rheumatologist much more, and I feel like they are much more competent at dealing with systemic autoimmune illnesses such as these. I hope I never have to see another GI again! I had allergies first, which is another autoimmune disorder.
