Amber pearls (Classical Pearls) for UC

I've had UC for about 10 years and have tried so many things. I'm taking lialda and canassa now but they are no longer keeping me out of remission. Next step per the GI Dr. is infusion. I'm trying all natural options before I go this route.

Lately, I've tried acupuncture and also started taking Amber Pearls (made by Classical Pearls) and I'm seeing a huge difference. I'm hopeful that I may be able to avoid infusion with these natural options.

Also want to share that long ago, I found the following to be the biggest triggers for my UC:

Stress
Coffee (caffeine) - which I used to Love!
Red Wine
Dark Chocolate
Ibuprofen

Hoping this post helps someone. I'm still struggling, but I've come a long way and I'm really excited about the Amber Pearls. I think they are really helping. (They have to be ordered by a licensed medical professional and do take a long time to get in though.)

I tried those Amber Pearls and within two weeks all my hair started turning green and falling out.

Then my left foot started growing bigger, and by week four it was almost double the size of my right foot.

All my fingernails fell off shortly after that, and then it got worse: my teeth all turned black and fell out.

Four stars. Would try again.

Glad you're feeling a bit better and I hope you continue to heal. That's not a common suggestion, I've never heard of it before. Sounds like some form of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is mentioned for time-to-time (Quin Dia is the most common TCM mentioned/tried here). Some here are rightly skeptical, as we do get a lot of folks pandering products here. Although your post doesn't sound like spam (not linking to a site selling it, etc.).

Give those naturals a fair-shake, however, do try the injectables if that fails. I've been on remicade since 2012 and it has worked wonders for me, given me a remission without side effects. I know a lot of people are initially scared of the biologics but they have worked wonders for many of us, and do not deserve those fears. Just make sure you're not limping by longterm, making excuses for not enjoying yourself due to your fear of going to the next class of UC medications. Quality of life is what we aim for with UC treatment, aim for a remission, and do not sell yourself short with excuses!

Your avoids are a lot of things that are often mentioned here.

1.) Stress is the most frequently mentioned trigger. Periods of prolonged stress (death in a family, relationship/financial/work stress) that goes on for months can sometimes trigger a flare. Not sure if it is the stress itself, or the other things adjunct to it: we sleep worse, eat worse, etc. Stress isn't guaranteed to cause flares, by any means. Certainly it's good to limit the stress in one's life as much is possible (avoid high-drama people, limit work stress, etc.) but stress is an unavoidable part of life and therefore not completely avoidable. Coping with stress, not dwelling on it, and finding healthy outlets to unwind are key.

2.) Caffeine can be like a colonoscopy prep to some of us. It can stimulate bowel muscle motion and cause urgency, more frequent bms, etc.

3.) Wine has sulfites in it, an allergen to some of us. Sulfites are found in other foods, as well, and might be something to avoid if you have troubles with it. Alcohol itself can bother us as well. Not sure if you can tolerate other forms of alcohol or if it is just wine that bothers you. Like everything with UC, it varies person-to-person.

4.) Ibuprofen, and all NSAIDs should be avoided for us (no bayer, aleve, aspirin) and we should only use tylenol. NSAIDs aggravate our UC symptoms and can cause flares.

5.) Chocolate is mentioned as a problem for some of us. Not universal by anymeans.

Most have a 2-hour infusion every 8 weeks. Hospitals do infusions in the evenings so you don't have to miss work.
