Has anyone used Isatis Cooling while pregnant? Any advice? I was diagnosed with UC in 2016. My symptoms have always been mild and have been brought under control with Canasa and Lialda. Was in remission when I became pregnant 8 weeks ago. Prior to pregnancy, I was using Isatis Cooling and YSL 3 daily and attribute both to keeping me in remission for at least a full year. I went off the Isatis Cooling right before conceiving with IVF assisted procedure. Two days ago I started flaring with some blood, mucus and cramping. I wish I could take the Isatis Cooling because it stopped flareup immediately for me in the past. I know it’s not recommended during pregnancy because no tests have been done, but I was wondering if anyone heard differently or had any experiences with it?? Anyone have advice?
Im sorry to hear that you are flaring. Flares can be so stressful, especially during pregnancy.
I would go back on Lialda and Canasa if I were you. You know it worked in the past to get your symptoms under control, and there is a lot of medical research that says both are safe during pregnancy. I know you’d rather handle the flare without meds, but the unknown possible side effects of those supplements would worry me.
I’d talk to both your GI and OBGYN. Good luck. I hope you get the flare under control quickly.
