Citric acid is not related to citrus fruits at all. It is made from GMO corn. If you have a corn allergy or do not like consuming GMO foods, then avoid it. It is an ingredient in a few supplements I have but I do not find that it is a problem. Obviously, it would not be good to just eat plain citric acid in high amounts. It is just a filler ingredient.
Have you ever looked up citric acid in reputable scientific textbooks or papers? Citric acid is a naturally-occurring organic acid critical in at least one major biochemical pathway (Krebs citric acid cycle) in all aerobic organisms, including humans. It is in fact found in citrus fruits.
Don't spew "facts" before you do some research.
