How long before Uceris kicks in??

Can anyone tell me how long it generally takes for Uceris to start working? Doctor gave my son a script and he started on it 3 days ago....no improvement at all

I'm at 4 weeks, hasn't helped.

I saw discernible response at about 2 weeks. During weeks 5-8 of the prescription, I was improved.

It is not the rescue drug pred is. It has milder effect, works slower. But it does have less side effects.

I'm almost four weeks in, and it plus Rowasa, has helped a lot.

I've used it twice and it never did anything for me. My doctor was so excited about it due to the low side effects and thought it would be a great alternative to prednisone, but we ended up having to step up to prednisone anyway. It was super expensive too, like $1000 Canadian for 2 months worth (which was the longest my doctor allowed me to stay on it before boycotting and switching to pred).

Steroids do not directly heal you, rather they stop the immune attack which enables your body to heal itself. The less inflammation you have the quicker you heal. The more extensive and severe the longer it takes to heal.

Uceris isn't powerful enough to treat moderate to severe inflammation at all, and you'll fail it if that's you. Uceris is great for mild inflammation to slightly moderate inflammation.
