i'm doing very well...i put two daughters through college (one is in med school and the other is trying to get in). They wrote about
my chronic illnesses for an entrance paper
since on remicade and imuran i'm close to normal: full time job, yearly ski trips, work on house n yard, traveled to Greece last yr for 29 days
Ohh...lemme tell you 'bout Greece...love the food and my in-laws are Greek; fine and amusing people. You cannot flush toilet paper bc their pipes are narrow in most cities and because those islands have the old style pits lined with rocks to collect waste water and toilet paper screws them up. I stayed in a house for 7 days with 1 bathroom for 5. the plane worried me but I made it 10 hours on a plane (on one leg of the trip) plus all the lines and...you know. i managed the boat rides and long car rides through mountains and all...yay me!
as for the immunosuppressants...it's not perfect...i do have issues with body temperature regulation as i get cold easy...i also really have to not overdo it physically...i require more rest and thats something i didn't always force myself to do.
most days i have 1 formed poop in the morning...except couple nights ago i ate 5 Krystal cheeseburgers and they went through me faster than an Arabian racehorse.
for breakfast i eat fat free chobani yogurt mixed with a can of low sugar sliced peaches (kept in fridge so they're good n cold) with some blueberries thrown in. i make certain I eat lunch and dinner and night snack (mostly whatever I want)...i am good
i realize my days might be numbered on this regime in terms of one day forming antibodies but i'm happy
i had a large gallstone so had a cholecystectomy last week
I've been terribly busy...my girls are now mature and getting along again; age 13 it starts (what starts you ask? well how about
a call to the hospital that your 15 yr old drank too much and she believes the er is burger king)...she's come a log way...I'd say it's tough raising kids from 15 through about
21
Reason I checked back is a woman at work said a little girl was recently diagnosed so i pointed her mother here. i did warn her that it can be rather scary to see ppl posting that removing their colon was the best thing they ever did (not talking me into that). plus i warned her about
ppl mixing healthy poop in a blender (sorry FMT folks...I'll be ready to stop the remicade and imuran if that ever holds water...keep the research going for the young)
things i say are meant in good humor...sorry to upset some folks at times. Can't you see me smiling?
but seriously, never listen to these get well quick folks...just search on a thread about
garlic enemas and tell me that just ain't some messed up stuff...vitamin E enemas too...when you're really hurting and sick for months and years you get desperate and that's when you can fall in the traps. I even tried smoking cigarettes for 6 months or so once and i hate tobacco (if i lived in a legalized state and my job allowed i'd try pot). those of you recall i pushed back on my wife's Pomegranate cure and oh was she mad, "you tried cigarettes and wont try this"? like i'm leery when thing will cure every ailment a person could possibly have and someone at her work is selling it.
i love this site...it gave me strength and company during my lowest moments. I'll never forget my last hospital stay and many of you were like the best family...bc you know what nobody else could possibly
lots of you folks offered me support and it helps...i really appreciate what kind words you all had
thank you, again, moderators and regular members who have ever helped me.
