They gave me fentanyl. It made me high for about 2 hours afterwards. I think the scope would have been harder without that. I had no pain and was able to have a conversation with my GI during the scope (it was just luck that he happened to be doing the endoscopy clinic today. Normally they book you in the first available slot which could be with anyone).
I just pooped out the blood from the biopsies. It looked quite dramatic. They took some extra biopsies for scientific research. They said I'm an "unusual case" since anecdotally you're supposed to know within 2 weeks if xeljanz is working but i responded much more slowly.
Hi woogy thanks. I asked my doc this before and he said if that happened i can do another 2 months on the higher dose (and then what?? I don't know...). Biggest fear is dropping the dose and somehow losing the sensitivity to the drug so that re-increasing doesn't work. But also this is the first time I've had anything close to remission in 3 years, i failed all the other drugs one after the other, so it would be nice to have a break from flaring up.
