Least problematic antibiotics following dental infection?

My son was diagnosed with severe UC but has mostly been in remission the past few years. He just had his wisdom teeth out and developed an infection and they want to put him on antibiotics but I’m really scared about it. He can’t take amoxicillin bc he is allergic. Doctor wants to put him on Clindamycin but I have heard of many UC folk who flare badly after this drug. Doctor says he could try just doing a 600mg IV of the drug and hold off on doing the oral pills if that is safer for the gut, but is it? Is there an alternative to Clindamycin that people think is less likely to impact his gut but still work on dental issues. The infection (as of now) is mild which is why he is giving us the night to figure it out what course of action is best. Advice on probiotic approach while taking the antibiotics?THANK YOU!

I have been on this antibiotic a couple of times. Both times my dr told me to buy OTC Floraster & I never had an issue. We all try to avoid antibiotics, infections in the mouth need treatment, not something to take a wait & see approach on.
