My doctor reduced my Xeljanz dosing from 10mg twice per day in early August to 5mg twice per day. I was initially scared I would start to flare with the reduced dosage, but continued to do well until last week. All of the sudden on Thursday morning I started to have more stomach discomfort and started to notice blood in my stool. Within 24 hours I went from 3 BM's per day to about 8 per day. I had stopped taking Qing Dai about two weeks ago because I felt like most of my improvement was attributed to starting Xeljanz and am aware of the potential side effects related to Qing Dai usage, especially long term usage. That is the only recent dietary / supplement change I have had. Since that is the only change I can attribute to the recent flare, I restarted Qing Dai again on Friday morning and by Sunday (yesterday) BM's had decreased to 4. I'm not sure how much blood there still is because the dye in Qing Dai can make it hard to see bleeding. Now I'm guessing my body is still reliant on the combination of therapy. Has anybody else out there experienced anything similar? For now, I'm sticking with Qing Dai until I feel I've reached full remission.
