antibiotic for uc

I have a request - some time ago there was a topic about the new antibiotic for ibd, but I have a total amnesia and can't recall its name or whether it was already on the market or just in medical trials. Could you remind me what it was as someone on the Polish uc forum has asked me about it and I couldn't remember it.

That sounds really cool. I just read the trial for UC starts in December and only lasts 3 weeks. I hope it works. My UC always feels better when I take antibiotics.

I hope so, too! It's nice that it's a pill, too, instead of an infusion or injection. Thanks for posting about it.

This is really cool. I do feel better on antibiotics too but as soon as I stop them all the symptoms come back. The naturopath I'm working with right now is all about prebiotics that feed butyrate bacteria. We just started so I don't know yet how it's going to pan out. When I see research on microbes and UC I get excited because I always believed this was caused by some kind of bug. Modern medicine suppresses my immune system like crazy yet my body keeps fighting and fighting like it wants to get rid of something. Makes you wonder.

I'd like to try this antibiotic for UC just to see if it does anything. Hopefully GI doctors aren't against it when it comes out.
