one-off food poisoning and effects on colitis

Hi, so last night I had an episode of vomiting and diarrhea. Barring the outside chance that I had a weird version of coronavirus, I'm guessing I just ate something funny. The vomiting has stopped but I still have abdominal pain and am worried I may have triggered a flare. It's my first experience of vomiting since I got UC 5 years ago. Do you think it will just settle down in a few days? I have been in remission for nearly a year.

For me, all my U.C. flares came on gradually, even the two that put me in the hospital. Feeling a little worse day by day, with a gradual increase in symptoms. Whenever I've had sudden diarrhea or vomiting, it's always been short lived and didn't lead to a flare.

Quincy I'm on vsl#3. I've got metamucil in the house but rarely use it...(since the doctor told me it can interfere with absorption of mesalazine)
I live alone, except for the dog who seems to be doing just fine
Feeling a bit better this evening so hopefully not panic stations yet...

If you are relatively certain that it is food poisoning then nothing beats charcoal. It is one tool in my arsenal that I use often. You don't need a boatload, a couple of capsules away from the food and meds do the trick.
