Hi everyone!

I started salofalk enemas a week ago (4g) following a colonoscopy that showed inflammation in the distal colon. I am also taking 8 pills of Salofalk. I feel that enemas are helping with the pain, and I’m not seeing blood, but it’s making my stools looser, at least when I go in the morning . If I go at night it’s usually formed. I guess it makes sense that putting liquid in my colon would make the stool less formed. However, I wonder if this is normal. I also feel that the colonoscopy and/or the prep irritated my colon.

Normal...you're still flaring. How long did your GI rx them for nightly?

It says 12 weeks ok the box, but I’m seeing my GI in 6 weeks so I guess we will be able to discuss the treatment. For how long can I take this nightly?

Until your flare is done....you will probably go through a constipation phase, which means still inflammation but healing.
Make sure you get refills as well to do tapering process... and then settle on maintenance of twice a week. It all takes a while.

It's good you're seeing him in 6 weeks as a follow up.
