Long time no see!!

Hey everyone! I haven’t been on here in years, I joined back in 2005 and was on for quite a while but backed off after I got into a remission that lasted almost 10 years! Well I’m back, also back in a flare and just wondering if any of the old peeps are here still like Quincy?? If so, HEY Q!! It’s Wilma!!!!! …. Anyhow, So much has happened in the last decade it’ll be a post if it’s own to get caught up! Anyhow welcome to all the new members that I don’t know yet and I hope there are a few old peeps here that remember me 😁😁

Yes, I remember you, Susiebuddy. You had worries about your son in the military, right? Not helpful with UC flaring, besides. Are you still living out west? / Old Hat (40 yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

Sorry to hear you're flaring, but I'm also intrigued by your 10 year remission. Tell us your secret formula!

Sorry for the delayed reply, and Quincy and Old Hat... SO GOOD TO SEE YOU GUYS!!!

So much has changed in my life it is unbelievable! I divorced my idiot abusive ex husband back in 2010 and that was the beginning of a way better life for me! From Montana I moved back to California, got my divorce, lived alone for a year and a half to heal mentally and then put myself back out on the market. I am now remarried to my prince charming for the last 9 years and it gets better every year, I am living in Texas now near Houston and my son finished his time in the army and is now married and waiting to start the academy to be a federal police officer for Homeland Security. He worked for my husband and I for a couple of years when he first got out of the army but concrete just wasn't his thing so he got hired on with DHS and has been there for several years now. He is married to a nurse and lives one hour from my place and I have a 3 month old grandson that I get to see on a regular basis. My current husband and I built up a concrete business when we first moved to Texas back in 2012 and we just sold it in March so now I am officially retired :D

As far as how I achieved remission without meds, when I got my divorce things started looking up. I simply got rid of the stress of being married to an abusive and drug addict ex, and over time I was able to get back into remission without any medication whatsoever. It didn't happen overnight, it took a good year or so before I could really say I was in remission. I have had 3 minor flares over this 9 year period with the longest one lasting 3 months and that was during a stressful time with our business. I also discovered through the 3rd flare that I am allergic to mold, and that had caused me to start flaring but once we got the mold out of my house it was only a few days and my flare resolved on it's own. It was because of the window air condition unit that was in my bedroom, crazy how mold can set off such immunity chaos!

This current flare started after I had to take such strong antibiotics for 10 days for an oral surgery I had on April 1, (both Flagyl AND Augmentin) and I am still trying to get things to settle down. I am taking a really strong probiotic and trying not to stress about anything especially this flare lol. The company that bought our company hired my husband to be their VP for the next 5 years and we are supposed to be getting health insurance in the next few weeks, so that will be nice!

I am hanging in there! No more horses, it's too dang hot here in Texas during the summers for me to ride, so I got out of horses and got into raising Pygmy goats lol... I have a registered herd that is show quality and I do show them several times every year. It's such a great hobby and I love these little goats, they are so hilarious! I am happier than I've ever been, and other than this flare, things have been pretty darn good!

It's amazing once you put yourself into a position where you can be blessed how the blessings start pouring in! I am honestly so happy with my husband now it feels like that old life wasn't really mine. And thanks for the tips on the probiotics, that made me get up and look at what's in the bottle I'm taking now. It's supposed to be a really good one and has 85 Billion whatever the heck in a 3 capsule per day dose.

This flare actually hasn't bee too bad, some bleeding and liquipoopie a few times and it does start to get better and be almost a regular poopie, then will be worse for a few days. I don't know what the cycle thing is about, why can't it just get better? It's like one ulceration will heal then a another one will develop... ugh... But at least it doesn't seem to be getting worse, it's just staying at a certain point with a few dips in symptoms every few days.

Time will tell... For now I am focusing on my little pygmy goats, they are my therapy these days lol.. My facebook page for my ranch is DHR Pygmys if you're curious just how cute they are LOL
