Yeah 15-20 mgs is often the dangerzone where symptoms might begin returning. Hoping the enemas are enough!

A little more detail. Your body naturally produces between 12-15 mgs of cortisol (Pred is synthetic cortisol), but production ceases when above that dosage.

As you near normal levels, the Pred is no longer significantly healing you and it all depends on your maintenance meds being sufficient to sustain you going forward. When you're taper Pred too fast or your maintenance meds are insufficient then, yes, you might see flare symptoms returning during the taper near those 15-20 mg doses. Seen numerous posts saying flare symptoms returning at those doses, here over the years too.

Azathiopurine might help, only downside is it takes 3 months to fully work. Usually you're on Pred while you wait for a response.

1g foam enemas, times 2 so 2g daily. They are like the liquid ones only foam. No blood today or any symptoms so here’s hoping they are working. He said his stool was very thin though.
