You are probably fine. They wouldn't give me blood thinners for my clots until after I had surgery because I was bleeding out and needed a transfusion every ~2 weeks, but after surgery, they put me on them. I still have my rectum, and it is still flaring, so there is some blood. My GI told me that the blood thinners are probably causing a little bit more blood in my rectum, but not enough to be concerned.
If it's not *a ton* of blood every day, you are probably fine. Just know the signs of too much blood loss -- rapid heart rate that won't calm down, lightheadedness/dizziness, trouble breathing, super pale (my lips and tongue also got very pale), etc. If you experience these, go to the ER. Obviously your team thinks the benefit outweighs the risk right now.
