Thanks all. I have a Medicare Advantage plan (AARP Medicare Advantage United Healthcare) but since I’m not being charged for Humira yet, my broker didn’t list it. I’m trying to transition from my last expensive diabetes drug (Victoza) to Toujeo insulin (all insulin has max charge of $35 a month on Medicare under new law, but I’m not having much success with the insulin). With Victoza my broker estimated I would be in the gap phase for 9-10 months unless I reached catastrophic phase (around 6800 plus the amount taken from social security, and then you pay less for rest of year. They billed my insurance over $1,000 for Victoza for one month. In the gap phase I have to pay 25% of that. Can you imagine my monthly bill with Humira!? It would be over $1,500 a month I think.
The older you get, the more confusing they make it!
Sincerely appreciate all the input.
