Faithmac,
When my antibodies were high and my Remicade levels were low... And I was still having difficulties (throat swelling, clearing my throat, coughing alot...AFTER the infusion) even with taking weekly methotrexate, (it knocks down my antibodies,) plus the same premeds you take, my GI increased my Remicade amount to 10.at 4 weeks to get my level above 10 to 13. I also took Benedryl every 6 hours for a week after the infusion to help with the throat swelling and coughing.
It was very scary. I still take Benedryl every 12 hours for 24 to 48 hours after my infusions now... And I am still scared. Thankfully my oxygen levels have remained high so no ER for me. I've had my UC/Crohn's meds put me in anaphylaxis shock so I usually know when things are going south.... But still.... It's dangerous and very scary. I'm sorry you are going thru this.
I hope you get some answers.
Clo
