Hi susie, I didnt know until I had a tubal ligation the year before. I knew I had fibroids and abnormal paps long before that.
Mine wasn't graded, but I learned during the follow-up with the surgeon when I commented initially that the period I had after the ligation was the only one that was near painless. He then said that I had a cyst on my right ovary and it was also covered with endo (which was scraped off during the ligation), plus around my uterus. When I had the total hysterectomy a year later, that gyno surgeon said I had it dotted throughout my abdomen, which remains. However, the hysterectomy and being on the HRT keeps hormonal fluctuations and its growing at bay.
I had no desire for children or to go through any other medications or surgeries to tamp it down for any relief. The sooner to have my period ended the better.
