entyvio and nose infection

I am on Entyvio for 1 year. I started nose infection 2-3 days after my last infusion. And had 5 days of antibiotic which did nothing and now my WBC is 18.8 and on antibiotic injections and oral antibiotic. Does this sound like from infusion? Anyone had infection like this? Entyvio says in flyer about nose infection.

Sorry to hear this Pam. I've been on Entyvio for almost 7 months. Still trying to figure out if it's really working for me. Until just over a week ago, I was having flare like symptoms and not normal BMs. Now I'm a #3 or 4 on the scale every day.

Did you have sinus issues before? Or Allergies? I did...and thought that's what I had again. But, now I have sinus pressure and minor headaches on and off..but mostly on. What are you're symptoms? My nose always feels dry, like my eyes ( I also have dry eyes ) and take drops for that.

Hope you feel better soon. I've had a couple of sinus infections and they are awfull. Take care...Sassy

I'm on Remicade. I get frequent infections.. and my infectious disease doctor (who works mainly with immune compromised patients and has a clinic for IBD infusions) has started giving me IV antibiotics daily for at least 14 days. The pills and shots were not working for me.

Whatever medication you are on....if it compromises your immune system.... I think you need a doctor that is familiar with the medication, immune compromised patients, and IBD. My GI and PCP and infectious disease doctor work together. Infections while on modifying medications should be handled with care. (With Remicade it's UTIs)

Early on (I’m 7 years now on entyvio), I had a lot of sinus issues for quite a while. Not infections but a constant postnasal drip and drainage. Then it eventually went away. I remember wondering at the time if it was related to UC or the Entyvio.

For me, I was in remission by then and there was no way the sinus issue was worse than living sick with UC, so I just put up with it. I used aller-Flo nasal spray and it helped some. but mine was just annoying — it wasn’t actual infections. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you everyone. @Clo- 1. what do you mean by IV antibiotics for 14 days? 2. is it communicated with your PCP? Because when I have infection I see PCP first and he starts with oral antibiotics.
I haven't seen infectious disease doctor but if I do even then first doctor I will see is my PCP. So he should know that I should be getting IV.
BTW I had Cellulitis on nose. Last year I had on ear. Seems like very hard to treat at least in my case.
