Yes, I have to stay one or two days because I will have a drain of some sort for excess blood that comes out.

Contained is good news as is having it within a short period of time. Tough year for you, but always good that anomalies are found and dealt with. Exhausting. It sounds like you have an amazing cousin to be of help during that time.
I hope you'll get good pain meds 😁👍🏻

I don't think Google's a bad thing when used for resources for questions and clarity. But it can definitely amp anxiety and distress. I have a need to know, but it's a double edged sword through the decision making and confirmation process 😵‍💫

I agree with the others. I'd have the surgery ASAP. ... But that's just me.

Your doctor thinking it's just going to be surgery is good news. Dr. Google scared the living daylights outta me...so be aware and do what's best for you. So very glad your cousin is gonna be there for you.

On BIL.... He's never been a smoker so he thinks that may be why they took a wait and see attitude.... But last doctor asked if he'd ever been stationed in some areas... When the answer was yes.. the doctor decided to check it out further. So I think it's a very individual thing.

I will be thinking of you and adding you to my prayer list. Please let us know how it's going.

Thank you everyone! I will keep you posted. In the morning I have to go for post testing. Blood work and chest x-ray.

I already did a breathing test which came back very good and I did an EKG which came back very good too.

I’ll just also add — my husband had testicular cancer many years ago. I think it was 2002? Or maybe 2010?

His tumor was also encapsulated and he’s never had any issues since. He’s had regular scans and follow ups and nothing more was ever found. His urologist has just finally released him from needing further follow ups. So I think you can at least say that encapsulated rumors can have a good outcome.

From what I understand, they make a small incision between the shoulder blades and take out the nodule. You have to stay in the hospital 12 to 48 hours and then you go home.

The nogule is around an inch. I've had it for over a year with it not getting any bigger so I'm going to ask if I can do it in September. Nothing has spread at all. It's just in the lower right lobe which the doctor said is good.

I've had a surgery this past November (basil cell) and then the kidney stone surgery. I really hope this is the last one.

That's a lot of surgeries! Maybe you could get a discount for the 3rd one? ~smiles~

I'm home and in quite a bit of pain. The surgery went very well. The doctor said it was cancer but he got it all out. He took out some lymph nodes and they are negative. He was extremely happy with how the surgery went.

Tomorrow I can take off the bandages and just leave the butterfly stitches. And I go back to the doctor in two weeks.

Whew! That is extremely good news that the lymph nodes were negative! Amazing that you can have lung surgery and be home so soon! Get lots of rest and don’t try to do too much too soon!

I stopped smoking the day before my surgery and will never do it again!!

I stayed one night in the hospital. Honestly, I was very comfortable while I was there. All the nurses were so nice. My surgeon checked in on me twice. He kept saying how happy he was with the surgery.

They told me not to take a shower until today. So, after the shower I have to just leave the butterfly strips on the incisions. I'm still in pain but I guess that's normal with this surgery (I refuse to google).

Hi Michele...good news of the surgery outcome and that you're doing well. What meds are you on for pain?
When you see your doc, ask how often will you be monitored. This is a relief it was caught early.

They gave me Oxycodone. I was taking it for the first few days. I'm going to just take Tylenol at this point and see how that is. I'm still in pain and short of breath, which the doctor said is normal. I have 4 sutures on the right side of my body. One right under my breast, the others down a little further. They just have butterfly stitches on them. They got stitched from the inside out. The stitches inside will dissolve.

I see my doctor in two weeks.

It’s pretty amazing the surgeries they can do without having to cut you open from here to there. A neighbor had a heart valve replaced through a tiny incision in her leg!

So glad that you didn't wait on the surgery, that it went well, and that it had not spread.

On the pain meds....sometimes it gets a little painful when it's least expected -- so save a few pills for just in case.
