I'm a Crohn's patient and have been on Rinvoq for almost a year. When I first started Rinvoq and was on the loading dose, I had vertigo for a month and a half and took Stugeron. Then, I had severe facial acne that lasted until the 8th month. Meanwhile, my cholesterol levels got elevated and had to be put on Crestor. A week ago, my GI decided that my liver enzymes increased due to Rinvoq and prescribed a medicine to lower them. Now, I have unexplained bruising. I feel that I have to take meds to treat Rinvoq's side effects which I didn't have when I was not on it. However, my inflammation is under control and my bloodwork is good. Does anyone suffer from such side effects?

LOL YUP.....just had bloodwork and cholesterol is up, I've had acne on my face, for about a year. But....I must say Rinvoq has made life SO much more pleasant. NO symptoms of UC at all. MY main problem is...I just requested a three month refill. My prescription is good until January 2025; and yet, my insurance wants a prior approval from my doctor. CVS specialty pharmacy can't send my refill unless they get approval from my insurance and insurance won't give it until they hear from my doctor. What a stress builder. I'll run out the 30th, but as you know....doctors offices move slowly as does insurance. SO...I may let ya know what happens if you suddenly have to quit Rinvoq! Best of luck to you minn...Rinvoq makes no secret of listing thousands of side effects possible with the stuff. It's all a gamble and up to us whether we wish to take it...well...until insurance or a slow doctor's office intervenes. sheesh..what a ride

I've been on Rinvoq for almost a year as well, it's very weird the way it works with me, it takes a very long time to put me on remission, and while I was on maintenance dose I got another flare which I'm fighting now.
So I'm back on 45 mg, the last part of the colon is just a mess, gassy, mucus, some blood, urgency sometimes for the smallest fart.
Funny you mention vertigo, when they put me back on the loading dose I was dizzy/lightheaded for days. try to make sure you stay hydrated
I have not checked my cholesterol
Rinvoq has not been a magic pill for me by far

I just had to go back up to the loading does because the maintenance dose was not working for me.

My liver enzyme tests are higher than I’ve ever had, I’ve been told to see a liver specialist. I had an MRI with enterography earlier this year and everything looked fine, now they’re high.

I have a feeling that this time next year that I’ll be on a new medication. My cholesterol is rising too. No acne.

I'm getting lots of lightheadedness recently, lasting all day, nearly fainting many times, and I believe it's from Rinvoq.

D...oh wow, that's disconcerting...you have a monitor at home to check your bp?
Are you able to get in to see your doc asap?

Thank you for your concern. I measure my BP and it's in the 115/80 range so my BP is ok, I'm functional and I go to work, long days, I lowered my rinvoq dose to 15 mg today but the lightheadedness still persists especially if I look up. I'm starting to think it's vertigo. I'm calling my dr. tomorrow first thing in the morning, to do a checkup and bloodwork

Sounds like possible bppv. Do you have it while laying down on a specific side?

quincy, looks like you're spot on, I only get it when moving around, looking up or turning head too quickly. not when laying down. I think it's gotten worse because when I wipe I put my head down to push in my hemmies :D

Does it favour a specific side...left ear vs right? If so, there are maneuvers you can do. I've had it since 1966...right ear first, then since 2000 in both. Attacks aren't frequent as they used to be. There are the Epley and Half-somersault maneuvers that I've found helpful...especially since they can be done at home.

Elevated liver enzymes, high LDL, acne and now shingles. It sucks big time.
