I saw diagnosed with lumbar spondylosis a month ago and was given 15mg IC Meloxicam (1/day) to help with pretty severe pain in my lower back. Also, physical therapy. I was supposed to take the Meloxicam for 30 days but after about
10 days I slowly started with abdominal pain and the return of mild symptoms of UC. This after years of remission. I stopped taking the Meloxicam but my mild UC symptoms persist for the last couple of weeks.
Any recommendations for diet, treatment or other that could get me back on track?

give us little more info, how often are you going, blood, mucus present? urgency?
I suggest giving bland diet a try for a week or so, and take probiotics.
mesalamine enemas are always a good option

My symptoms are pretty mild. Urgency (mostly) in the morning, cramping during the night. The abdominal pain was interfering with sleep. I have been doing a bland diet.
The good news is, I've been taking Turmeric for the last week and things have improved.

Anusol...and maybe a low dosage steroid? You could call the pharmacy and enquire. Do you not have a doctor?

Well it looks like the turmeric did the trick. Started about
10 days ago and saw good results quickly and another week it looks like everything is back to normal. It has also helped with inflammation in my back. A win/win.

You stopped the Meloxicam and now, 10 days later, you report everything is back to normal. How do you know it was the turmeric as opposed to merely stopping the Meloxicam?
