have posted in a while. thought things wear turning around.but wrong got a stumic bug around the 7th bad one diarrhea heartburn vomiting queasy stumic lasted like 8 days. tried to talk to my Dr thru my chart ask him wat I needed to do diarrhea was so bad never responded after 4 days I started self medicating started taking the prednisone again 40mg a morning heartburn nausea meds. went to primary care dr took blood and stool sample. blood work results not bad. said no inflimation in body. it's been a mess trying to get my dr to give advice idk like he's not doing his part to fix this mess. still diarrhea going on its flaired up my oc. Just see a little blood now and then in mornings. have taken 3 iv infusion treetments.still on imuran every day that's all he has me doing. may have to change drs. bad gas also at night before bed don't know wat kind of gas med to take no sense asking my chart take a week to mabey get an answer from dr

30 mg daily since around the 8th yes I know how predisone is took it for 2 mth with the taper. will taper off 20-15-10-5 most everything on blood n stool wasn't to bad. found out I got a small trace of alpha gal in my system. my gastro dr got all results sent to him today surly i will hear back in a timely manner. I was eating food for uc not ag doubble wammy idk

Whoa, Rascle! You need to take precautions against tick bites because they are carrying worse ailments in recent years, more dangerous to people than they used to be. (Harder to get rid of infections they now can transmit.) A senior neighbor of mine told me about her sister's experience gardening at home in central NJ, Tom's River area. The sister, also a senior, felt a tick biting her in her back yard garden, then she managed to pull it out intact and put it in a sealed bottle. By the next day she started running a fever so she called her doc, who advised go to hospital ER right away and take the tick bottle. She did follow his directions, hospital had the tick tested and found out it was carrying Babesiosis. Doctors then ordered immediate IV-antibiotics to treat her because that infection is very serious. It used to be that only Maine ticks were carriers of that, but it did spread southward by the 20teens so more people need to be aware of it. Lyme disease is another bad infection that has spread to other regions from deer ticks in Connecticut. *** Take good care of yourself and keep us posted on your test results, meds, etc. / Old Hat

just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this. took last iv infusion in early September. had a stumic virus lator on that month. finally got that cleared up dr put me on a heartburn med 40mg of pantoprazole. after about 3 days my skin started itching from like the top of my head to the bottom of my feet just everywhere except my back. so I stopped taking that and went to a 40mg of generic nexium esomeprazole still the same itching so iv stoped taking that. don't know wat else it could be causing this. everything iv been taking is the same. the generic imurin take that every day hate that medicine makes me nauseas. tired. weird felling. take it at night so I don't feel terrible all day. going to do a colonoscopy Friday see wats wat no diarrhea for a while now. loose stool still. firm at times. try to follow diet best I can. can't hardly drink anything but water sodas tea anything with sugar tastes nasty for some reason. guess i will give it a few days see if itching stops. idk crazy

rascle...when is your colonoscopy scheduled? I asree with CC to get a liver panel done. Contact your GI and mention the concern of you being itchy, as it's an important symptom to be noted and investigated.

the scope is the 18th both ends. if thay start at bottom end hope thay wash it off before going into top end never know lol

They start at the top then the bottom, as per my GI. 😊 Dark yellow urine can be simply dehydration...but can mean liver issues (which can go with itching).

Glad to hear you fared well with the scoping and will get liver tests done soon. Probably you'll make better progress on Avsola alone. It does seem that your itching issue started after Imuran generic got added. Maybe Beave will read this and comment because he was the forum member who already knew about Avsola use when you 1st mentioned that your doc was starting you on it. Since you had some polyps removed you should take it easy and pamper King Colon with careful diet and extra rest over the weekend to keep things healing there. / Old Hat

Vitamin D3 is anti-inflammatory so a valid supplement for many of us UCers besides aiding bone health. Taking 1,000 iu daily shouldn't cause itching or other annoying side effects. For me the softgels seem to work better than tablets and I can get Nature Made brand, which my gastroenterologist recommends, at the chain drugstores in NY-- easy to swallow, too. I hope you can get rid of the tick bite setback without any longer lasting problems like Gritty Hope mentions, but it's good that she alerted you to diet trouble those bites can cause. / Old Hat

That's really what all UCers need, a gastroenterologist who understands our blasted ailment and keeps up with ongoing research recommendations for better treatment. The basic fact about UC is that it can flare up again at any time-- so knowing that possibility can help us to manage our lives more practically and avoid bad advice or temptations that could irritate King Colon.
