Colonoscopy prep

My GI says I should do a colonoscopy this year. Has been 3 years since the last one. I am in remission on Entyvio.
Every time I have a colonoscopy prep I end up with stomach erosions. Any colonoscopy prep is a pure acid. My throat burns from all of them and my stomach is always on fire. I asked my GI if I can do a miralax prep this time. He is not in favor as it doesn't clean very well. Maybe I can do a strict diet just eggs and white rice 2 weeks prior.
Has anybody had a good luck with miralax prep and diet?

Not sure how much of a response you will get, however, there is a lot of comments in the archives. I typed in Miralax & colonoscopy & found many. It is recommended that you take the entire bottle & drink white grape juice. I really didn't see much about diet.

I've used the Miralax prep 3 times for C-scope with my IBD gastro's approval; it gets mixed with 64 oz. clear Pedialyte. Depending on the length of your colon that might work for you with no stomach irritation. We used to have an RN, Judy2/Jujub, posting here who recommended using Pedialyte instead of Gatorade for the mixture. Does your doctor require the full gallon prep? Miralax might work with that much liquid, also. There are some foods, such as corn, that one should avoid eating for about 5-7 days before C-scope because they can be harder to clean out. *** BTW, how are you doing with osteoporosis treatment? I agree with you that it's very disappointing when a helpful MD relocates; that has happened to me a few times. In fact, when my gyn recommended an endocrinologist dept. consult last year about my bone density test results, and I asked which doctor she would recommend, she replied that I should phone to inquire who was available for a consult visit in that dept.-- so there must be a lot of staff turnover. / Old Hat

I've always used white grape juice for my preps. The gatorade made me puke. My doctor said white grape juice was fine to use.

If you can manage, switch to a liquid diet 24 hours before your prep, that helps with the cleanse if you have slow transit. I did the miralax prep with my last scope and it was fine, no complaints from my doctor at all. I also used 4 tabs of dulcolax at the beginning. That was a bit harsh on my system but it sped up the prep for sure. I was "clear" halfway through the miralax.

The only Gatorade flavor I like it the light blue one — might have “ice” in its name. Also I like the pineapple flavored coconut water. It’s no added sodium but seems to really help me not get dehydrated.

Colyte is flavoured...pineapple is better than berry...but I would prefer NO flavour at all (as was the GoLytely which we cant get in Canada).

My system is this:
- mix the gallon as directed in the morning of the prep and put it in the fridge standing (as it can leak)
- between 4 - 5:00 pm, pour the first amount into an 8ish oz glass, put a smaller diameter STRAW in the glass, and set the timer for 10 mins
- at the 10 mins, take in a deep breath, place the straw closer to the back of your mouth and drink it all without stopping
- pour your next glass, set the timer and relax
- repeat for the next 3ish hours

I dont suggest you have anything between...you shouldn't be tasting the product horribly if using a straw and not filling your mouth with it.

Yeah the straw thing doesn't work for me either. I can swallow faster when I drink directly from the glass. For some reason.
