CC, yes Medicare B pays 80% & the medigap picks up the 20%. If Medicare approves a charge medigap has to pay the 20%. Infusion drugs are covered.
I looked it up & the current monthly cost for Medicare is $174.70 a month unless you are a high wage earner. Keep in mind both A&B have a yearly deductible.
If you decide on Medicare, I urge you to go with plan G, it's the best one out there. The cost may vary per month depending on the state, I'm not 100% positive on this.
I am grandfathered in on Plan F & once I turned 65 they pay my yearly deductibles. I pay less than $240 a month for my plan. I am with United Healthcare.
In all of my years of being on Medicare, I have not had one bill disputed or denied except for recently they denied a specific portable oxygen therapy that I need. They will pay for tanks which I do not want since I walk with a cane. It doesn't matter, I have made arrangements to pay out of pocket for this need.
You do not need a referral to see a dr with Medicare, however, my PCP makes my referrals for me except when it's someone I want to see specifically. I send them the name on my patient portal & they take care of it.
Be sure that all of your drs accept Medicare's Assignment of Benefits! This means they will accept what Medicare pays them, less the 20%. Medicare sends an EOB to my medigap, I don't have to do a thing.
I know it sounds scary for some, but in all honesty it's pretty cut & dried. You can find a broker to help guide you if you are unsure.
Stay away from Advantage plans, my understanding is they are trying to do away with them eventually.
