Starting Rinvoq

Hello, after almost a year on Entyvio, my GI has recommended that because it's not getting me into remission, that I should try Rinvoq starting in 3 weeks. However, after using Entocort retention enemas for two weeks, I feel like I'm in remission.😁
My recent colonoscopy and FCP test, showed plenty of inflammation still. So, I decided to try Rinvoq. At least it's a pill, and I won't have to go for infusions. From what I've read, this drug was not covered in BC Canada, but my GI says otherwise. So here goes.....
Is anyone here from Canada, in particular BC, on a Rinvoq patient Assistance program?
Also, any start up side effects?

Sassy...I can't help, I'm not from Canada....but...Rinvoq has been MY miracle drug. I didn't qualify for their assistance program due to my insurance. I would think that if it isn't covered by your insurance, you should certainly be qualified for the assistance program. Best of luck to you!!

Make sure you have had your HPV vaccinations. And get regular cervical/anal screening for any CIN/AIN lesions. Rinvoq lowers your ability to stop HPV reactivating.

I'm doing really good so far on Rinvoq. It's just over 3 weeks now and I've had no side effects. I was already feeling better the weeks before starting Rinvoq, after a month of Entocort enemas. I have gained 5 lbs, and eating everything (almost) like I'm in remission. 😬

I am now slowly tapering off Mezavant. If successful, this would be the first time in 20 years, to go without Asacol or Mezavant. Fingers 👉 crossed!

CC--Thanks, I am also tapering down 1 pill a month. That's really scary! Did you notice any change in symptoms while doing this?

Barnsbury, I am almost 64, am I wrong in thinking it's too late for this HPV vaccine? They started recommending this 15 years ago for pre teens up to 18 years old. I am happily married for 36 years and don't plan on changing that lol.😇 I've had 1 of 2 shingles vaccines already.
