HELLO from France

Hello, I saw my gastro yesterday, I'll still be taking Stelara for four months even if my stools are next to diarrhea most of the time and I think due to my stress level. The consistency of my stools is better, for example during holidays but never normal.
She told me about Mirikizumab which is possible in France recently. In general, I have at this moment 2 or 4 stools per day, in the morning and in the evening but always with loose stools.
We spoke together about Xeljanz, Rinvoq, but she preferred waiting with theses two treatments especially because of their skin consequences.
Does anyone of you have this treatment (Mirikizumab : OMVOH) ?

oh my god, I've just received my calprotectin (28th February) : 5284 !!!!!
How is it possible ? No results with Stelara (I used Humira, Entyvio and no Stelara) never in remission for 3 years.

Is it possible that the results of calprotectin could have no sens?

Check with your doc about whether you need to stop Rinvoq with a cold. I wouldn't think so unless you get a severe infection. The past 2 months are the time of year where colds spread rapidly. It may not be because of Rinvoq.

Less urgency is a good sign! You have been flaring for years so it may take a while for your colon to heal. Definitely keep in touch with your doctor. Maybe give it another couple months before you give up on it.

Have you ever tried Remicade? Humira didn't work for me, but after convincing my doc to try Remi I have never looked back. It's often said that if Humira doesn't work, then Remi won't either, but they use different proteins and I am living proof that Remi can work even if Humira doesn't.

I haven't had any kind of cold/virus for years. Even before Covid I was a germaphobe and kept my distance from sick people and sometimes wore face masks if flu was widespread in this area. I wash my hands a lot and try to avoid touching my face unless my hands are clean.

Since Covid, I just try to stay out of crowded places to avoid germs, still do my handwashing and wear masks if I am in a situation with a lot of people. I go to shops and restaurants at non-busy times.

Since you are still flaring, it's hard to tell if the virus aggravated your bowels or if you were more susceptible to viruses because of Rinvoq. Hopefully things stabilize and you stop catching viruses.

CC...wow, that's brutal!! I can vividly remember the handful of times of having those symptoms in my life...always blamed it on "food poisoning". To this day corn chowder makes me cringe 😳 Hard to say how you picked it up...it seems impossible when being hypervigalent (highly contagious seems to mean everywhere). I hope this won't cause you any issues UC-wise...and it's good you didnt have to deal with the agony of a pinched nerve at the same time.

Thanks, Quincy! I shudder to think about being in pain and going through all of that. I feel the same way you do about corn chowder, though in my case it's about Jack Daniels. (I was a wild child in my youth lol)

Flowers, I read the same. I use sanitizer after I touch anything when I am away from home, but since that doesn't work with noro, I could have picked it up from anywhere -- the gas pump, ATM, menu at a restaurant, at the hardware store etc.

So far so good with UC *fingers crossed*. Towards the end of the D, it turned almost black and I was worried it was an upper GI bleed. But Dr Google said that being dehydrated can turn stool very dark and I was most definitely dehydrated. Things look normal now. Will be watchful the next little while. I am due for my infusion on Thursday so that should help calm things down in case anything was stirred up.

I read that it doesn't take many particles to get infected. Be careful out there. This was really brutal.
