Connor,
I had my local compounding pharmacy create the vitamin e enema for me. They used Sheldon's formula and said it was a lot of work poking the capsules so they searched to find a liquid vitamin e. NOW Foods was where they found the liquid E. I am not sure which one it is they ordered, but here is a sight where I found it. I know they mixed it with distilled water and it was so more convient to have it made in sterile conditions.
I did the vitamin E enema from February to April. During this time I also changed my diet . I eliminated pasta, breads, processed foods. I ate a lot of crockpot chicken, fish, creamy Maranatha peanutbutter& Raw honey, asparagus, cooked carrots and spinach, Soymilk, StonyFields yogurt, eggs and cheese. Everything organic if possible. By the end of April I had formed stools, no diarhea, no mucous, very little cramping. 5 months later I only have a little blood in my stool in the morning.
I have my bm in the morning after my shower. That is the way my body has always been. I don't have time to lay down to let the enema work it's way up my colon. Sunday -Friday I am up by 5:45 a.m. and have to have myself and four kids out the door by 7a.m. It's hard enough getting up by 5:45 than to even think about getting up earlier. So I may get to do the enema on Saturday. I did find some vitamin E suppositories.
I really think it has been a combination of the Vitamin E enema, the diet, and the supplements.
My family dr agreed to try Asacol in July, only 3 pills a day and recently upped it to 2 pills 3 times a day. I still have a slight amount of blood though.
I hate taking a whole lot of prescription drugs. Plan on calling the GI doctor. I dread calling the GI doc. I don't want to take so many prescription pills.
I want to take the least amoung possible to heal the colon. I know I need another colonoscopy, it's been a year now.
