Anybody ever get tingling / numbness in thigh area....

Last two days I have had tingling / numbness in my right thigh. Not painful, but a weird tingling feeling. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

Hopefully this is not what's wrong with you. When I was initially diagnosed with UC in 2007, I was hospitalized and immobile for a few weeks. Once I tried to get up and active again, I suffered DVT or a blood clot in my leg which ended up going to my lungs (Pulmonary embolism). If you see any swelling or pain that lasts longer than a few days, I would mention it to your dr. Again, don't want you to worry but I ignored the pain in my leg, thought it was a pulled muscle, and almost died from it.

It could be some circulatory system side effect from your meds-- so a phone call to your doctor is likely a wise move if you have numbness, especially. Best wishes for it to clear up soon. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

That's a L3 dermatome, could be something in lower back. L2 or L3 area.

Thanks for the advice.

Called nurse on call and she said I better come to ER just in case it's blood clot or something bad. They said it was meralgia parestetica. They think I damaged the nerve by straining while using the toilet. I told them I don't really strain, I just go all morning long and it starts back up again in the evening.

My physiatic (spelling??? ) started to hurt through the worst of my flare and I figured that was from "straining" on the toilet. Had trouble walkin for a couple days, but mine was my nerve.
