my stool tests came in negitive

with all that diarreah I was having, my stools test say nothing for bacteria. It just must be UC, dang it! Bitter sweet.

aww. I am sorry you didn't get the result you were hoping for. I still have that idea in the back of my head that maybe my situation is bacterial - I know how you feel. Eventually I will get a stool test and I will be here posting this exact topic with the same prognosis I bet. I have heard that the stool tests are not 100% accurate. I am not sure if you did one or if you took a few samples but I have read about them giving false negatives. It's annoying that even with all these tests, it just comes down the particular stool, the lab and the technician. I've tested negative for things and then found out I was positive. Simple things too like yeast.

Yeah, false negatives are fairly common, because you don't always pass the pathogens with each bowel movement. My GI had me submit two different samples, I think for Giardia, because it doesn't always pass. Both were negative.

I don't know what doctor ordered me the Doctors Data stool test, but it came in the mail and I'm excited to do this one. I guess it's very comprehensive and they look for pathegens most hospitals/doctors don't look for. I will post these too!

Yup you're right Linda. I am not even sickly anymore. I was very sickly when I joined this forum but now I am a lot better and my outlook has dramatically changed. Maybe I should call myself nolongerasicklygirl smilewinkgrin

I hope you find something treatable in your poo.

My forum name is pb4 which is short for poohbear for ever but it does fit me well cuz in my 18yrs with having IBD I've been pooping pretty much non-stop and I fear it will be forever...I do try and think positively about IBD in that they will find a cure but I'm also realistic with my own experiance since I have a complication with my IBD that has left me flaring continuously to some degree ever since I got sick (just as the one specialist I saw in the beginning when I first got sick predicted that I would have a slim to zero chance of finding full remission due to my complication with my disease.

Still hoping for a cure though :)
