Ever feel like you just can't take it anymore... your UC is spreading and getting worse and you're just not you anymore!

lost count of how long i was in the bathroom today
cry it's a hard hit, i feel like i want my colon out asap... just can't take it - am I the only one with these days...

You are not the only one with those days! My last flare I had one of those days - okay - maybe more like a dozen... I remember only wanting to feel well again.

It was a long road, but I did start feeling well again. I hope you do too - and soon!

     Last year I actually thought I was gonna die.  For real!  Even drug my husband out and we bought burial plots.  I was in the hospital for ten days but still ill for the next seven months....a real bummer.  But....there IS light at the end of the tunnel and I don't mean the afterlife..I mean here.  It will get better.  Just watch your diet, take your meds, listen to your doctor and PRAY.  That's all you can do kiddo.

I've had this for 17 years so of course I know exactly where you are coming from. A couple years ago I was asking my doctor to yanked the ole colon out but he said I wasn't ready. I really really wanted to be rid of this diseased thing. But then I hit a really nice remission (colonoscopy proven) and even though if I had to have my colon taken out, I would still do it but as of right now I am glad that I didn't. It truly does get better - honest! You are newly diagnosed and the first few years can be tough. Hang in there and vent here as often as you want because we have all been where you are now.

Many of us are having all sorts of issues with their UC and some have many other serious problems on top of it. It amazes me how much stuff I'm going through health wise in addition to my UC and severe IBS...sometimes I wonder if I'm going to be in pain for the rest of my life and lately I'm getting hit from many different sides, but I keep the faith and just keep fighting back...yes there are somedays I do want to give up and just cry as the pain was so bad the thought of dying entered my mind way too much, but by the grace of God I'm feeling better. Hang in there!

Oh yesssssss I definately understand too...I'm sick and tired of running to the bathroom too....meds dont work anymore, another colonoscopy, sore tummy....... the works..dont you worry you are sooooooooo NOT alone

We all have days, or in my case, weeks where you feel like you wish it would all be over. Somehow we find a way to keep going. Once you find your way, stick to it. Try to remember that you aren't suffering alone.

I just feel like crying. I just want this to be done with. I have a sinus infection...probably because of the pred lowering my immune system and working at a preschool. I'm SO SICK OF BEING SICK. I am sick of not living life not being me... I'm sick of NOBODY SEEMING TO UNDERSTAND!

I am so so sick of other people being frustrated with me because there's always some new symptom or some new illness or some new thing with me. I know it's annoying to hear that I'm sick all the time... but it's not like I ask for it!!! I wish I were normal so when I did get sick people would think it was legitimate.... because somehow.. since I have a chronic condition... when I don't feel good.. IT DOESN'T MEAN AS MUCH! /Rant

sweetmelody you took the words out of my mouth i feel everything you said i seem to blame everything on the pred at the moment and to top it all it is easter hols the kids keep fighting and i have the headache from hell life just gets better lol.

If I had 5 bucks for everytime that I soiled my pants over the past 3 yrs. I could go on a very expensive vacation. After 3 yrs of a non stop flare, blood transfusions, stays in the hospitals, dehydration, weakness, missing A LOT of work and trying every medicine to no avail... I opted for surgery.

So I feel for you --- I got so sick the doctor will have to do the three step jpouch surgery instead of the 2 step.

But, There are many people who have bad flares and do go into remission. And it is a huge decision to make. I, for one, have absolutely no regrets- even though it makes me sad that I had to have such extreme surgery and sometimes I feel sorry for myself.
