High fevers during flare?

Hello All,

I am just curious to know if others experience high fevers during flares. My daughter has been sick over the last few months and has daily fevers which rise as high as 104F. When she was in the hospital for 2 weeks they had her on Zosyn and that kept the fevers at bay, but as soon as we returned home, the fevers came back. Has anyone had a similar experience.

Have they tested her for c-diff? That was what caused my fever and flare-like symptoms.

I had a similar experience a few months back. Went into a mild flare (over the course of several months), then my head swelled up and within three days I was in the ICU for a week.   They finally concluded that I have developed a super infection caused by my UC.   The doctors told my husband that had I been a day later, I would not have made it.   I'm not trying to scare you, but I know that sometimes we get so used to dealing with various symptoms that we don't always see the forest for the trees.   You should push for blood tests to rule out any other infections if they haven't done so already.   I hope she gets better soon.
