I am just curious about the number of UC patients. Wikipedia says in USA 10-12/100000 annually, but all UC patients are about 0.35-1/1000. Can anyone explain the '10-12/10000'? Is it the number of new diagnoised patients or that of the UC patients who go to hospital.

Anyway, if it is 1/1000, then US should have 300,000, am I right?

Thanks for the links Jratt-

It's always a positive to know research really is being done/funded. Yet everytime I read
one of these I am still so amazed at just how resilient the human body is...some go 3/4 of a lifetime
living symptom free... I would really love to "pick the brain's" of those people to find out just exactly
how they did it...what their lifestyle was like, diet through out, stress factors, etc. prior to diagnoses.
This study makes me all the more "hungry" for that info
