Worst symptom?

     It seems my worst symptom of this ulcerative proctitis is the severe pressure I feel in the rectum as the stool gets closer to evacuating.  I can tolerate the blood and mucus, but that darn pressure and urgency is driving me up a wall! 

     Sometimes I wonder if all these drugs really DO anything.  I am using rectal meds too.  I suppose it is the inflammation in the rectum that is causing this.  Always worried about cancer since my paternal grandmother died from cancer of the rectum, but I have colonoscopies and had a sigmoidoscope in June with multiple biopsies.  It just showed inflammation.  Wish it would go away already!

Yes, that "feeling" is horrible and I dread it so much...I'm just glad that I haven't had proctitis in quite sometime now, but I'll never forget the "feeling" you get with it. Be patient, hopefully the rectal meds will soon kick in, what rectal meds are u using? I only have luck with cortifoam myself, none of the other rectal meds did a dang thing for me.

Yes Christine....that's my worst symptom during flaring. The absolute worst symptom for anything be it during flaring or not is nausea like when I start turning green type of nausea...no kidding!

I still think you should ask the doc for proctocedyl and it might help with some of the symptoms. Use it in conjunction with the other suppositories.
Or the rectal rockets that the pharmacy has to make according to your doc's prescription. Boxermom used them.

How many times a day are you using the suppositories?

Do you have a copy of the pathology report from your biopsies?
