Cortifoam and side effects...

I know that it only has 10% steroids BUT could a dose or two in a row cause me increase in anxiety and feeling "loopy" at all? I have been using Cortifoam about once a week followed next night with ANusol when I feel irritation in my rectum. This week I was so "shakey" and took more Xanax which helped some. Maybe stress of having injection in my knee was the cause - just trying to put a finger on it as I did not like feeling that way at all!!

I doubt it is the cortifoam. Worst case scenario, you wouldn't absorb more corticosteroid than your body produces naturally.

You might be sensitive to the steroid. I know after I use a dose or two of steroid enemas I get that shaky jittery feeling as well as insomnia and mood swings. After being on steroid enemas for so long and then corticosteroid injections I've become sensitive to any and all types of steroids. So maybe with the way your body handles things, the steroid might be causing this.

Just out of curiosity, what was the resolution?

Remember I am 70 - memory is one of the first things to go - LOL!

Anyway, I find if I don't use the Cortifoam and/or Anusol together or two nights in a row I am ok. I do think I absorb just enough to affect my nervous systom. Hopefully, I won't have to go back to using either more often - then I may find out for sure.

I also know I was under stress in March so have a feeling that was more the problem!
