Hi guys?
I was wondering if anyone has tried to lose weight while taking all these medications and trying to eat all that stuff your body can tolerate. I was recently diagnosed with arthritis on top of UC ( i guess you know the feeling - having to run to the bathroom while experiencing pain), so has anyone tried any wight-loss supplement. I find that despite all the GI problems and diets i cannot lose any weight in order to give these joints some rest. Any suggestions?
I know this question may sound ridiculous, sorry...

I gained weight last year during a 8 month flare. May have lost a little the last month when it was bad. I have battle weight for the last 30 years. Lost over 50 lbs twice and it was a lot easier when I was younger. Exercise is absolutely necessary for me. You just aren't as hungry when you are working out and you can't eat when you are busy. As far as diets go, just stop all the refined carbs and high fat stuff. No junk. Eat breakfast always, small portions and regular spaced meals. Starving yourself just makes you binge.

I don't know if I'd mess with a diet supplement. But, maybe start with gentle exercise and work up. Swimming, biking, things that won't hurt your joints too much. Swimming's really good, doesn't hurt my joints but I always get tired. And when I started riding my bike to class I noticed it helped with arthritis.

How are you eating in general?
And the same old suggestion regarding treatment....please try rectal meds. They may just help keep you off pred.

thank you, guys. The only refined carbs i eat ( i think ) are the white rice bread and the boiled rice, which in general are the two main ingredients in my diet. I avoid sugar at all and suspect gluten intolerance or intolerance to something they put in wheat bread. I was just wondering - how do you tolerate fibre - it just kills me, i don't really understand how you take Metamucil. i know that it helps to get bulkier BM...anyway, thanks, i know that workouts help, i just don't have the time, i work a physical job 40 hrs/week, it ehxausts me a lot, train martial arts twice a week and all that doesn't help. maybe it all is in the genes....
