I have blood streaks in my poo but that is all. Two movements a day, no urges. Does any little trace of blood = not remission ?

It depends..... if the blood streaks might be from hemmies, then you might be in remission from UC. If the blood is from UC inflammation, then you're still not quite there yet.
Still, it sounds as if you are doing well! That's great!

I agree with songlady. If the blood is from your UC then you aren't quite in remission yet but definitely getting there. I think getting into remission is very easy for some but very difficult for others (especially those who don't respond well to medication). I think particularly for the rectum, it is hard to get it totally into remission.

When I was at the doc they said there were no hem detected. I would say it's from the UP. That is the only signs I have of having UP at the current moment.

Can you let us known what you are taking to control your UP?

Definitely not remission, but obviously improvement of some symptoms.
What meds are you on?

Nightly enema (hold all night without issues)
Canasa in the morning after movement (hold all day)
corzal (i think its spelled) 3 pills 3x a day
I really dont think the canasa is doing much. I noticed mostly all of my symptoms went away when i started the enemas. I might ask my GI if i can just do the enemas only and see how i feel but right now i am not changing anything until i see him again.

How long on the enemas? what's the extent of your UC?
Sounds like a good plan for now.....

I been on the enemas for almost two months now but I noticed my symptoms subsiding only days after first using them. So it was apparent that canasa wasn't getting high enough to reach all of my UP.

when I read the title "what is remission" i thought god its been so long i cant remember i had surgery so i guess technically im "cured"
Id say with blood your not in remission sounds close tho if your already on ASA's you may ask your GI for some canasa or other suppositories if your not already on them and knock out that little bit of blood and be fully remissed, starting canasa suppositories always put a dent in my symptoms
