Haven't come by for  a while.  I guess when we feel pretty good we don't visit much.

I have been very lucky that my proctosigmoiditis has been good for months.  I am taking NO medication.  I do have some IBS symptoms from time to time - usually when I forget what I SHOULD be eating.

My husband has been quite sick all winter and in the hospital 3 times.  I was sure the stress would catch up with my colon problems - but lucky it didn't - yet!  He is doing much better and we are planning a trip to Texas end of April. 

I changed my signature some but don't know if it will show yet.

Hi Elaine,

Welcome back!  I am so glad to hear that your husband is doing better and that all is well w/ the proctosigmoiditis.   Glad to see that you checked back in w/ us.  I love when people come back to say that all is well.  Otherwise it looks like you will suffer w/ this thing forever.  Always gives some hope.  Just curious...how long did the proctosigmoiditis bother you consistantly before it calmed.  I am able to keep mine under control (knock wood) but need to be on top of it everyday.  If I miss one enema...well dont' even want to think about it.  Anyway, glad to hear from you and about a fun trip planned.  Make sure to check in from time to time!

Wonderful to hear from you! I've been wondering how you've been doing... I figured you were probably doing well but I didn't imagine you were off all meds. How amazing! I hope you continue to feel well for a long time. I am sorry to hear about your husband, I hope he is doing better.

To answer about how long I was on meds - tried about everything and only prednisone for 5 months got rid of the bleeding.  Specialist I went to took me off the steroids - except for Cortifoam.  I used that and Anusol three times a day for a week or so and then tapered and when all was quiet I stopped and only had to use them both a couple times for a few days when I saw mucous or had those "left sided" aches and pains.  Mostly, my problem is IBS for many years so I still take Imodium and pepto bismal as needed (like I said - mostly when I eat WRONG)  I am 70 now and should know better.

I do think the Align has been the best help as my system is so "fussy"!

See gastro doc in the Fall and probably due for a scope!  YUCK!

Hi Elaine! Good to hear your husband is doing better after such a serious set-back over the winter, and that your butt has behaved as well as it has with your intervention.

How are your knees doing?

I agree that the align seems to be the best for you..your regimen is maintaining the status quo..obviously working well for you.
Hey, I found a good Omega by Renew Life...It's called Easy Omega..small dosage. I don't get SBS...!!! woohoo!

Hey, maybe give that a try - starting slow - would be good for me all around.

My knees are terrible and not sure about knee replacement until after our trip to Texas which is for my husband's veteran reunion - he is top priority for now since my knees are not a life threatening problem.  However, my weight is about 80 lbs. too much which is life threatening so maybe surgery would help. I am principle driver of our van so it would take a LOT of planning to have the surgery done.

I will be back - gotta keep track of some "old" friends here who really helped me before I knew anything about UC!!  Thanks again!

Hi Elaine :) It's good to hear from you. I was just thinking about you the other day. I sometimes wonder where our regulars go and think about how they are doing.
