Try adding some good oils to your morning breakfast: a spoonful of coconut oil, olive oil or other nut oil. Fish oil would also be good but might be fishy tasting. Remember the old-fashioned cod liver oil? There was a reason people took it. I found that morning was the best time to take it because that's when my gut was more active. A little coffee also helped things along
Another old-fashioned remedy that is true is "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". That's the fiber in the apple helping C. I remove the skin.
I totally agree with drinking LOTS of water and using Citrucel, part of my every day routine, along with one piece of fruit. I also avoid foods that clog me up which are things like cheese, pasta, wheat products like pizza. Small amount of hard cheese can put me in C immediately but amazingly yogurt causes D for me.
Find out what works for your gut, keep a food journal and notice what happens the day after you eat certain foods.
Finally, are you using a mesalamine enema? This could really help heal inflammation at the bottom that meds don't reach. It really works.
