Frequent Urination

hello all,

recently i have been urinating 10-15 times a day...i checked my blood sugar and it is a little high but nothing outragous...115-120 resting...i am not on prednisone but i am on Asacol HD, and steroid enemas and mesmaline enemas..is this a side effect of any of these and does anyone else have this problem?

Before i got my UC under control I was having to get up to go at night and going all the time. Not a huge amount of volume but not trickle either. Once I got stable in remission it stopped. I never used steriods just asacol HD and canasa. Once on drugs it started going away.

In another thread it was speculated that inflammation in the colon or in the area from UC pressed on the bladder

Maybe get a CBC and CMP? not expensive tests but frequent urination could be caused by serious adverse reactions to medication. I had only minor liver numbers off a bit.

I think it does help to drink a lot of water with UC although that doesn't seem to make sense. I usually drink 3 large glasses before bed after having tea.

if you are a male, you will see that during a UC flare you tend to pee more often than in remission. for me it's just another way to know when i am entering a flare.

I imagine the cortisone enemas could, since steroids can cause diabetes. I'd call your doc.
