I saw this article too, very interesting. I still want to try the triple antibiotic treatment if my UC doesn't behave in the future.

the rate of remissions vs placebo is not an extraordinary one as far as i've read in the second article. if i remember i've seen better results with other antibiotics, but it's to late here to put my mind at work and search for the articles.
the link between fusobacterium&cancer is interesting. i am expecting more findings like this one in the years to come...

Alinus
when you get the time I'd like to hear about
other abx treatment results because I'm considering the triple abx course.
My doctor suggested antibiotic treatment but when I followed up with her on it turns out she was going to Rx Xifaxan not the triple abx.
Thing is I tried Xifaxan 2 years ago (same doctor) and nothing positive happened. My symptoms are much much better now and am hoping to achieve total remission.
Does this mean I shouldn't expect anything from the triple abx?

@imma.
i do not know what to expect from antibiotic therapy :) never tried it.
the bad thing is that i've lost my USB stick where i've had a full folder with such information - i've considered last year, but as for now i am satisfied with what i've achieved with diet. as far as i remember cipro&flagyl are the most effective, in low doses, during long periods (it seems low doses are better in disrupting biofilms in our gut than higher doses in short term).
but i suggest you consider roadback.org fundation - they are specialised in antibiotic therapy for auto-immune dissorders.
