lately i have been farting and after there is lots of a clearish slightly colored mucus...what is this?

Mucous.

It's a symptom of inflammation, maybe in the rectum.

On the forum it is AKA a "shart"! You need meds, pronto. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I know about these all too well. When I am flaring, there is no safe way to fart other than on the toilet bowl. I 2nd the rectal meds.

I'll add light to this, doesn;'t necesserly mean a flare imo. I had it the other day a TON of mucas and had to keep wiping but have been fine since. It occasionally happens to me not very often but never means a sign of a flare for me anyway.
