Remicade ?

I had my first Remicade treatment last Friday (8/3). There were no issues and was actually doing great; energy level not bad, no sign of reaction.

Unfortunately starting yesterday I have taken a turn. I feel nautious, my head feels in the clouds, and my body is just completely wiped out...exhausted. I have been on 40 mg of Prednisone since Saturday...tapered from 60, 50, now at 40. I plan to taper down to 30 mg because my UC is under control (or seems to be).

I still have no fever or sign of infection, and my energy could be related to Prednisone. However it just feels like I got hit by a truck yesterday and can't seem to recover. Has anyone had similar results or insight?

brian, remicade made me very tired and i got bad headaches from it- to the point where i couldn't stand or function for a few days after my infusion. i would just lay in the living room with my eye mask until it would eventually go away. i told my nurse about it but she didn't say it was uncommon- just typed it into her computer.

i think the drug effects everyone differently. i had never heard about being predmedicated with remicade because nobody in my infusion office ever did that. some people on here mentioned that you can get medicines before remicade to help with side effects- i'm not sure which ones. you could ask your doctor before your next infusion to see if you could get something.

Just got out of my Remicade infusion about 30 minutes ago. They always predmedicate me with Tylenol and Benadryl.
Agree with the other comments in that tired feeling usually comes the day after a Remicade infusion and not a week later.
Could very well be the tapering of the Prednisone.
