I hope all my friends here are far from this terrible storm that is heading your way. I will pray that you and your friends and families are all safe. I've been watching live footage and it looks like it could get nasty.

Everything is good up here in northern part of New England. We're getting some light wind and rain up here (4mph winds with 13mph gusts) and light rain (tenths of an inch). Nothing to worry about here...

I have a house in Ocean city nj, one block from the beach, not too worried about flooding,but worried about wind. Funny with UC also worried about wind.

I am in Northern VA and the wind has picked up considerably in the last few hours with plenty of rain. We all just wonder how long we will have power. I'm hoping there won't be any down trees by us or on our house. Praying everyone stays safe, warm and dry.

Everyone here on the west coast is keeping all of you in our thoughts...have relatives outside of Philly and I'm worried about them, especially my elderly father in law. We are keeping a close watch on what's going on -- so I know you are going through it, but I can assure you that our spirit is with all of you. Take care, and stay as safe as you can.

We vacation in OC every summer. Lovely town. Hope your house and everything will be okay there. This storm is just awful. :(

Here in NE PA the wind is really picking up the past hour. We just had a gust of 45 mph. Lights keep flickering. I imagine we'll lose power shortly. They are talking about gusts up to 75 - 80 mph here in the Poconos. So far, a little less than an inch of rain. Sounds like there is a freight train coming up the road.

Getting windy in Ontario. Power outages around my area.

Also a woman was hit by flying debris, apparently a store sign, and has died in Toronto.

Hope everyone else is alright.

We have the high winds here in MI too. Gusts of 40-50mph near Detroit. It's sounding crazy outside! I heard that the Great Lakes have peaks of 25ft. No rain here though, just some sporadic misting.

I'm in south jersey about 45 minutes from atlantic city.  right now we just have lots of wind, rain, down trees and wires.  my husband is a firefighter and he is at the station all night. hes been texting me and says its not as bad in our town  as they expected.  all the shore towns look like they got hit pretty hard though

old mike, ocean city is flooded, if youre a block from the ocean you may be too, but i hope not!

Prayer to all of you East Coasters!
My family is in Philadelphia...power is out there, but luckily my parents have a back up generator, so they're fine. Here in Chicago, Lake Michigan is wild...white caps...windy & cold. Stay safe!!!

Things weren't too bad here in the Finger Lakes area of NY. Some rain and some high winds, but nothing drastic and not nearly as bad as what was initially predicted. I definitely feel for those in other areas though!

     Had some high winds and driving rain here in Bellmawr, NJ, exit 3 of the turnpike.  The gusts had us a bit concerned as we have trees in our back yard.  Thank GOD, today is not bad at all and no damage to our property or neighbors properties.  Our daughter and son in law live about eight blocks from us.  He had the house before they were married and had a problem with his basement flooding a few years back after a snow storm and then heavy rain.  As of last night their basement was still dry.  Haven't heard from them yet, probably still sleeping..lol.  Our daughter works for the state at the Woodbury Court house and they are off today.  Son in law works in Camden for the Sheriff's office.  He may have to go in later.

     Mike, hope your house in OC has no water damage.  We have reservations this Thursday night at the AtlantiClub in AC...wonder if we still will be able to go sad .

Not to bad here in Westeren PA, lots of rain and wind last night, power went off and on a few times last night, but this morning just a lot of rain. May see some snow later, but mostly rain. Hope everyone is safe and doing well this morning.

Wind and rain were very heavy list night. Lots of power outages in NH this morning but I was spared as I never lost power at home or at work. A few scattered twigs in the yard but no damage.

We're in a good "pocket" where the bad weather hasn't attacked us. But, it's been cloudy, many times raining, windy, snow or the odd time perfect sunny Fall day. Been a hit on the depression scale, but I'll take it.

Whew! We are lucky to be on high ground above the Hudson River on Manhattan, NYC. Bad situation south of 39th Street down to Battery, major power outage, transformer blowouts, subway station & tunnel flooding by salt-water overflow. NYU Hospital had to evacuate patients at midnight after their back-up generators failed. No mass transit since Sunday eve, no postal service, all schools & most businesses, cultural institutions closed. (Relieved that I haven't needed to use trusty 24-hr votive candle to light home.) PC dial-up unreliable today, though. Wishing everybody in affected states well! / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
