I have been on 6mp for about 2 months and so far it has been working well for me. I've recently noticed however that I am experiencing hair loss. I used to have thick hair and now it has gone really thin. Its not noticeable to anyone else yet but I am worried that it might get worse.
Can you lose all your hair on this drug?
Does the hair loss ever stop?
I'm a 21 year old female, and the amount of hair I'm losing at the moment is making me unhappy.
Any suggestions?

I also have very thick hair and I loss a lot of hair in the beginning. I stopped losing it around the 2-3 month mark. But usually the hair loss will stop when your body gets used to the med. What dose are you on?

I have a ton of hair and I haven't lost any. I lost a lot with Asacol when I first started it but I didn't notice hairloss with 6mp. When I lost it from mesalamine, it grew back eventually.

I'm on 25 mg a day which is half a tablet. I've been taking them for 2 months but only now experiencing hair loss. I lose on average a hand full a day, worse when brushing and washing the hair.

Yes, I suffered a lot of hair loss when I took 6MP. Try using Nioxin shampoo and conditioners. You can purchase it at your hairdresser and I do believe Penney's sells it too at their hair salon. It worked for me. Good luck!
