Has anyone taken Tramadol?

I am looking for something stronger than Tylenol to help with pain and I have a friend that gets a prescription for Tramadol and said that it helps a lot. Just wondered if anyone else has experience with it.

Yes. I take it when needed for pain and it is a life-saver. I react to pain meds in a way where they give me energy though. Most people get sleepy from them. But still... as far as pain goes, it is great.

What kind of pain are you needing it for? Have you tried anything with Methocarbamol? It's a muscle relaxant, but can help with all over pain. It wouldn't be like the tramadol, however.

We give it to our cat (topically in her ear) to help with the pain in her legs. miracle med for her.
She's 18 with tons of other problems, but keeping the pain at bay has helped with some of her other issues as well.

I have noticed a change in her mentally, but that can have a lot to do with her age or something else that we haven't pinpointed as of yet.
Regardless...she's better for having it.

I also have Tramadol for my cat. I have it in pill form whitch I dilute and put in a syringe. I squirt it down her mouth. It helps her when she's in pain.They gave it to my friend when he had a tooth pulled. He said it really helped.

I've had tramadol, and it made me so loopy....I didn't like the feeling.

Tramadol makes me vomit, even half of the lowest dose. But my GI is always trying to prescribe it to me when I'm in pain (I have to tell him no). Just be careful of narcotic pain meds, they can slow your bowel down too much and cause constipation.

Tramadol messes with my mind and have hallucinations the handful of times I have taken it. others I know though are fine with it though. I guess I am a lightweight.
